About Chad and Jared
Chad and Jared Tuoro have always loved rugby – playing it, coaching it, watching it. The brothers have played both national and international levels, now they’re living the dream working in coaching roles for New Zealand Rugby, while managing and developing their own business: Twin Training Rugby Academy.
Chad is the High Performance Talent Development Sevens Manager for New Zealand Rugby, with a focus on nurturing future talent across the mens and women’s New Zealand Sevens teams.
On the field, he was a member of the New Zealand Sevens team in 2008/9. During this time he played in the 2009 Rugby Sevens World Cup and two IRB Sevens World Series, including tournaments in Hong Kong, Australia, America and United Kingdom.
Chad has represented Counties Manukau and Bay of Plenty in the National Provincial Championship (NPC) and has won three National Sevens Championships.
As part of his job at NZ Rugby, Chad is in regular contact with professional players and knows what it takes to develop a career in the game.
Chad is a teacher and understands the fundamentals of building a curriculum that will appeal to kids while establishing an environment of learning, building confidence and self-discipline.
Chad is a father-of-two young boys and in his spare time he loves vacuuming.
In 2011, Jared joined New Zealand Rugby as Coach Development Manager. He played for Auckland in the NPC but after an injury put an end to his playing ambitions, his focus turned to coaching.
Jared was the top graduate of the IRM Level 4 coaching course in 2008. He went on to become the assistant coach of the Scottish Women’s rugby team before returning to New Zealand to take up his role at New Zealand Rugby.
